There are the historical heritage sites of Toyama Castle and Hibara Castle which represent the Sengoku (Warring States) period of Tohoku; Hibara Gold Mine, where gold dust was collected; and Hibarajuku which was submerged under the explosion of Mountain Bandai. In the Oshio area there is Kashiwagi Castle, built in the Sengoku period using the best masonry stone and covering 50 hectares; and and Tsunatori Castle in Kitayama.
